27th Anniversary of Tiananmen Square Massacre

On June 7, 2016, a meeting was held at the Sheraton Hotel, Flushing, New York to remember the 27th anniversary of Tiananmen Square Massacre.

This meeting was sponsored by "Beijing Spring", a pro-democracy journal located in New York, USA; Chinese Alliance for Democracy; China Democracy Party, and a number of other pro-democracy and human rights organizations.

27 years ago, student in Beijing took to the streets in protest of government corruption, demanding freedom, human rights, and a democratic political system. Thousands of students and civilians were massacred by the Chinese army at the Tiananmen Square.

From then on, people around the world would remember the day of "June 4", the day when the Chinese army opened fire on the students and civilians, and mourn those who sacrificed their lives for freedom and democracy in China.

However, the Chinese government refused to redress the issue of Tiananmen Massacre, and blocked all information on the internet in China on "June 4" Tiananmen democracy movement. Those who dare to mourn the killed students and remember the Tiananmen Massacre, publicly or privately, are either detained or arrested.

Zhang Xianlai, a member of the "Chinese Alliance for Democracy", said that we should always remember those students who sacrificed their lives for China's democracy.
